Gloria Elliott

Ministries

Biography

Born in Roanoke, Virginia to Giles and Dorothy Elliott, Gloria sang her first public solo at the age of four. Her parents were home missionaries for more than 50 years who built and pastored churches across the State of Virginia.

Music has always been a part of Gloria’s life, having been raised in a pastor’s home with a musical mother and family that sang together. Mother, Dorothy Elliott is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, and still preaches the gospel. A mighty woman of God, and a talented musician, she plays piano & accordion, and has written many great songs, such as “Touched By His Nail Scarred Hands” that appears in many church hymnals.

Gloria is the youngest of 3 children. Her sister Mary (also a singer and song writer) resides in Houston, Texas with her husband Bob Donald. Her most recent song, “A Crown For My King” is a beautiful song and featured on one of Gloria’s latest recordings. Her brother Frank, a business man, and his wife Kristy live in the Fort Worth, Texas area.

Throughout her early years Gloria sang in churches and schools where she competed in talent competitions regionally. At the age of 19 she recorded her first album at the Arthur Smith Studio in Charlotte, North Carolina. The musical group, The Sierras, which included LaVerne Tripp, were the back-up singers for the album.

After her father passed away, she left the Houston, Texas area and moved with her mother to Branson, Missouri. From Branson, she travels thousands of miles every year, to many parts of the United States sharing her testimony, and speaking the Word with love and compassion. The testimony of her life and healing will greatly move you … it softens the hardest hearts and prepares them to receive the Word of God.

After moving to Branson, she renewed an old acquaintance with Gary S. Paxton and has become friends with him and his wife Vickie Sue. When Gary approached her with the idea of producing a new album for her, she welcomed the opportunity to work with him on her newest recording, “I’m Gonna Walk Right Out of Egypt”. Gary felt this song would stretch and broaden her ministry to an even greater scope.

Gloria met Gary many years before at Heritage U.S.A She had previously recorded “A Vessel of Honor”, a song written by Gary that has blessed many church congregations around the world.

Gloria attends The Sanctuary of Hope Church in Branson, pastored by Sam and Ruth Kaunley who have been a great encouragement and support to her ministry. Many great musicians and singers come out of this church.

Throughout her entire evangelistic outreach, Gloria has ministered through song and the spoken Word to multitudes of people throughout the United States and foreign countries. She shares her God given talents in churches, conventions, women’s retreats, single seminars, youth festivals, senior citizen groups, nursing homes, schools and prisons. These experiences have inspired Gloria to write many of the songs she has recorded. She comes to you with songs that will lift your spirits into the heavenlies … into the very throne room of God.

Gloria’s favorite scripture that expresses her heart about the ministry is:
1st Timothy 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.”

Quote from Gloria: “Performers – perform a certain service and hopefully do it well. But I prefer to be a minister of the Gospel, and I believe I must always give my best. If I am ever considered a performer -may it be for an audience of ONE - JEHOVAH GOD
